Weak leaders pick weak leaders and strong leaders pick strong leaders.

Your staff must clearly understand their roles and be empowered.

Trust- They can disagree with you but if they don't have your back when you walk out of the office, get rid of them. 

The best way to make it special is to make it hard. Celebrate the hard. Kids want to be pushed.

Kids want a clear mission, belonging, and purpose. Hold them to high standards. 

Be patient with results, not behaviors.

• The standard can't change based on a winning or losing team. 

Do NOT lower the bar for your best players. They need to be held to the same standard.

His team rule was "work hard and support your teammates."

Water all the plants; if you don't, they die. Coach EVERY PLAYER. 

The better you know them, the better your decisions. Get to know them, then let them lead.
